So i was browsing around my fellow fashion bloggers, and i came across a post on the contents of your purse. So I decided to share my purse with you. thanks to (A Girl Brushed Red*)

The other day i was looking through a magazine and there was an article on Alice + Olivias line for Payless. and i found these red patent leather, flawless, wedge, ankle boots. And i fell in love, but after getting a few strange looks when expressing my love for them.....i started to doubt them. Especially after my little brother saying they looked like something a Power Ranger would wear. But I don't care i NEED them. And I want to get them in red since i have enough black shoes.

These ones are a little low for my taste, but they'll be more comfortable to walk around in.

Oh, annndddd. I got a sequined fanny pack (in silver) from Patricia Field. i love it so much. i just love staring at it. It's now one of my favorite pieces next to my leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and black sequined converse. Ugh i love it.

So tomorrow I'll be seeing The Academy Is..., We The Kings, Hey Monday, and Carolina Liar. I'm extremely excited for it. Even though i wish people would dress up more for shows....It's strictly band tee and skinny jeans for everyone.

okay so this post probably has nothing to do with fashion. but when you're trapped inside a house for weeks on end with no taste of the outside world. it gets easy to mope 80% of my time.

and my moms sick again so that's doesn't help at all.

but in these weeks of seclusion, I've been finishing off the Twilight Saga. I'm more than half way through Breaking Dawn (the last book). and Since the movie for the first book (Twilight) is coming out next month. my minds kind of been on the creative run with the look and feel of the book along with the movie. Since the book is my imaginations picturing of the events and the movie is the physical manifestation of everything i pictured, it's like an artists Ecstasy. that might sounded a little blunt. but the movie is fit so well to everything i imagined, it's unbelievable. i can't even do that with photography or fashion. haha it feels like some psychic vision of some sort. okay but beyond that....

since the book is obviously about Vampires (what isn't these days), you automatically think the traditional Goth-Victorian look. But since Twilight is set in a rainy small town in Washington. Everything is more set around the Jade greens on the surrounding forests, and the way the greens shift as the weather changes. Now, on the characters influence of the style. The main character Bella, is described as somewhat of a plain girl. Since she even sees make up as a waste of time. But the movies depiction or her style is closer to the enviorment. With burgundys, mossy greens, browns, and other arrays of navy. Most of the actual pieces are henleys, coats, and corduroys. The style really suits "plain" Bella, and it was glamorized so it'd be more suited for the teen crowd. They kept true to her character. As for Bella's soon-to-be Other Half, Edward (vampire). They did a way better job with his style than the book ever described. Much better. From the movies interpretation, the slightly wrinkled button-ups with rolled up sleeves, traditionally navy pea-coats, and shades of grays, blues, whites, and (rarely) black. With every combination of those colors in between. A very big change from the books rendering of his style. I cringed when i saw the words "tan leather jacket" and "white turtleneck". Definitely cringe-worthy.

As for the some what minor characters, The Cullen's ("vegetarian vampires"), they're style is strictly designer due to one of the family members obsession with fashion. My favorite Cullen, Alice. She never lets her family where the same outfit twice, and stocks the house with new clothes as often as possible. Though the Cullen's' style isn't described much throughout the books (not including Alice) the most clear idea of there style is in the movies adaptation of their characters. I'm somewhat disappointed in how they dressed Alice. She's described as a graceful, pixie like, and with an undying love for fashion. She always gave off the "edgy" style. You could totally picture her in Alexander Wang. But, since the book/movie is set in a small town, they probably had to tone down the characters haute couture to aid in the facade they had to keep up. Since their inhuman, destracting beauty is enough as it is.

i didn't want people to think i gave up on this blog, so i need to muster up the scarce motivation i have and blog on.

Oh How It's Been So Long...

alright i've been without internet for a little over a week and i've been so deprived of my daily fashion dose from blogs. The only thing that's been keeping me from going mad is Twilight. i never thought i'd be one to read a near 500 page book about vampires. don't get me wrong, i love vampires. but some people just go to far. as far as drinking actual human blood. no joke. haha anyways.

Last Tuesday i went to Nordstrom Rack in San Leandro and it was just two days after i was looking at Betsey Johnson, Patricia Field, Tarina Tarantino, etc. Just wishing i could have something of their. But at their prices (besides Patricia Field) it probably wouldn't happen until christmas. Buuutttt..........at the back corner of the store....a sample shoe sale...and there i found two pairs of Betsey Johnson shoes size 6 for...are you ready for this...?

DIE!!! I walked out of that store an extremely happy girl...AND i got a Betsey Johnson necklace thats adorable for $25. Oh annddd...my mom also bought a gazillion shoes. along with L.A.M.B shoes she found that were $360 and went down to $160.

For those of you who don't know, Audrey Kitching is another "Scene Queen" like Raquel Reed.

I just love the spectrum's of color in her style.

and they way her pink hair looks with purple and turquoise.

I love posting Muse's that aren't as well known in the high fashion scene. Since most of these girls are affiliated with the Emo/Indie/Hardcore Music Scene. And I'd love to be one of the first to fully enforce it and be apart of this fashion movement.

went shopping....again. haha. So i finally went to the boot sale and found nothing in my size. only one pair of boots that are Mod at it's best. the boots are a little bold for me. I'm a little shy to wear them. But as soon as i find the way to wear them it'll be good.

i bought the t-shirt in a large so i could wear it as a t-shirt dress. and i stretched the neckline so it'd be more of an off the shoulder top. I'm so wearing it to Cobra Starship next month.

the shorts are some old jeans i cut after drooling over the William Rast Line. but I have a better denim that i can use other than that rich navy blue.

So that's what i got yesterday. and a MAJOR thank you to people reading my blog. now i feel like i'm not talking to myself. :)

Lead singer of Rilo Kiley and solo project Jenny Lewis With the Watson Twins.

I love, love, love her style. It's a stark contrast to yesterdays Raquel Reed, but like i said before. I cannot stick to one style. I haven't styled for it yet, but i do have an idea of what i'm going to do. I even brought out my old cowboy boots from 2005. I'm going to incorporate small floral patterns, velvets, golds, flowy sleeves, sadly i don't own any rompers (yet), cowboy boots, tights, halter dresses, trapeze dresses, ruffles, button-up shirt dresses, and some blazers.

As i researched her style I listened to Rilo Kiley. The music was really inspiring, Under The Blacklight is mostly alternative indie rock, with a little bit of soul and country. Definitely an amazing album. Buy it.

she's an alternative model from New York, she's consider one of the Scene Queens. Black Mamba, The Academy Is...

Okay since I'm extremely new to this fashion blogging world, i still don't know how most of it works. i've done some researching. from reading blogs to articles about blogs.

There are some great blogs out there, but somethings missing...

After about a week of looking at new blogs everyday, i have not seen one related to, okay i don't want to get stereotypical about this, related to the emo music scene.

what i mean by "emo music scene", i mean the kids who go to shows, wear band tshirts, talk about bands like people talk about The Hills, and treat CD release days like holidays.

This current fashion scene, is missing what the emo scene has.

and the emo scene, is missing what the fashion scene has.

i'm not saying that fashion has nothing to do with music, oh god that'd be horrendously stupid.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that the emo scene is missing an interest in fashion. I haven't met one emo kid, or even Scene kid for that matter, who reads Nylon.

Personally i left my love of Fashion...for Music....and now i'm returning with a great love for both.

Which should make for one hell of a ride.

That's why i decided to use my high fashion vision instead of being afraid of it, like i have been for 2 years. But i always keep the thought in my head, to never forget who i am. to not get wrapped up how everyone else is dressing. because out of 40 blogs....not one had a Forever The Sickest Kids shirt.

New, News and Novelties

i finally got to visit my more home than town of San Francisco. even though it's just a drive across the bridge, it's still so far.

We took a drive down to Pier 39 and walked around til about 12am. One thing that always draws me into a store is the small tables lined with assorted sunglasses that are a little too inspired by other brands designs. but that's usually where i find the best glasses that can be broken and thrown around and won't have to worry about the amount of money i paid. I haven't touched the Dior sunglasses i got in 7th grade since. I got 3 pairs. one was free.

the 1st pair (top left): are knock-offs of sunglasses i bought at UO a year ago, but these ones fit better. and i broke my UO ones, i was really upset.

the 2nd pair (top right:are HUGE and i love it. after breaking my absolute favorite pair of plain black sunglasses, and then losing the ones i replaced them with, these are a pretty good substitute..

the 3rd pair (bottom): the cashier said "buy 2 get one free" so i took the chance and picked these slightly over-sized aviators. they're kind of big on me, and make me look a little too much like Victoria Beckham. but they were free, and i'm sure i'll use them at some point.

and then, probably the most dreaded thing i did last night....i bought a fake purse. it felt so wrong, but the purse was adorable. i feel like im confessing a secret, but i bought a Miu Miu knock-off. oh god i really bought it. But the thing my mom always explains to me is that when you always have real designer bags and/or clothes, when you wear something fake no one will question you. And Miu Miu isn't really the most copy label at the street stores.

so the Pros and Cons of the bag....

Pros:

+It's gorgeous.
+Even if the MiuMiu decal comes off, it won't look like over used fake Chanel bag missing a C.
+Love, love, love the sea foam green
+Fits a lot of items

Cons:

-It's fake
-I saw the same exact bag, in the same store, but with a Versace logo....
-If you poke and examine it too much, it's completely obvious the material sucks.

even the though the guilt of buying a fake purse is a burden, i love the bag.

My mother walked in with her real Gucci bag and bought a fake Prada one. Yes, Prada, the mother of Miu Miu. pretty cute, no?

AND! i have recently found out about the arrival of TopShop.com USA.

amazing. i've been drooling over the topshop skirts on Polyvore, and now I can own them.

They even have a petite section (including pants) for us girls under 5"4 and/or really skinny.

So since i'm still pretty new to this blogging site. i still feel the need to introduce myself more, since i haven't had the time to display my style.

Who are you? your age? job?im trying not to make this awkward, but my name is Amethyst. after the semi-precious quartz. or some form of purple. I wouldn't say i'm an average 15 year old. but i do like to indulge in being a kid. i go to shows, a lot. i wish i could shop as much as i use to. instead im stuck at home just dreaming up outfits. that desperately wish to put in to reality. my job? hah , i don't have one..yet. but the day will come.

How would you describe your style? that's probably the hardest question for me. there's so much to it. i try to keep an open mind about fashion. but there are some styles i wouldn't dare to touch, mostly because it's overdone or overrated. but i do love anything glamorous with an edge.
Who is your fashion inspiration and why?anything that catches my eye. on blogger i try to add people who have a different style then me, to keep a little variety. i like to see peoples idea, and there a lot of people on here who have that vision. but my other inspirations would be Jemina Pearl, Raquel Reed, Juliet Simms, and a little bit of Katy Perry. i even have guys as inspiration. i think of it as a challenge.

What is your favorite piece of clothing?black skinny jeans. i swear i almost live in them. other then that the beautiful gift from my mother, black sequined converse. she bugged me for years to get rid of my black (now) brown converse. i still wear them. but the sequined beauties add a touch to even my plainest outfits..

What kind of music do you like? favorite bands? songs?hmm...i mostly stick to alternative, that's for sure. my favorite bands range from The Academy Is... to Be Your Own Pet and Rilo Kiley to PlayRadioPlay! my favorite song at the moment would be...hm.....Becky. i love the video too.

Are there fashion boundaries you do not cross? anything you would never be seen wearing? billowy sleeves, wide leg jeans, gladiator sandals*, and the jewel tone tops from Forever 21 and black shorts. EVERYONE wears it. but don't get me wrong, i adore Forever 21

What is your most recent purchase?a (surprisingly) good quality dusty rose lace dress from Forever 21. for the detail on it, it's worth way more than being on a sale rack. a gingham short-sleeve shirt dress, and a somewhat magenta quarter sleeve button up. and about a gazillion v-necks.

What are some things you can not live without?my CD collection, my denim grey pencil skirt, sequined converse, band tshirts, and my beloved black skinny jeans..

Who is your favorite designer?again i try to keep an open mind on designers, so i like what i like. but of course i love Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Peter Som, Chloe, Sass & Bide, Alice + Olivia, basically designers with an edge

Where do you usually shop? i shop anywhere basically, i just buy whatever i like. Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, American Apparel, of course vintage shops, Villains, Wasteland, just whatever.

Do you have any beauty secrets?mm...not much. basically everything i learned from my mother, most people don't believe that i share a closet, make-up table, shoe rack with my mom. she has over 400 pairs of shoes from the 80's to the 90's to right now.

What city inspires your fashion sense? it might not always be cities, but definitely Haight St., Williamsburg, the Fillmore, New York, San Francisco. Paris. the world.

* there is only one exception for gladiator sandals to me...

i adore how the sandals continue into the graphic of the leggings. its a effortless twist on the trend. oh, the model is Raquel Reed. the only "scene queen" worth being called cool.

To anyone who reads this, i want everyone to know that this blog is basically about me getting up from the floor and going back to the fashion lover i use to be. going back to the normal, healthy girl who i use to be. the girl who made best dressed. the girl who everyone complimented.

What's My Scene Again?

Scene, Emo, Hipster, Indie, NuWave, Kitchsy, Couture.....

i hate sticking to one. that's life's way of telling me to be free. and honestly that's the most relaxing thing in life. to finally be free.

for the past 5 or so years, I've been trying to figure out what my style is. I've worn strictly abercrombie & fitch, hollister, baby phat (gag), juicy couture, gah just thinking about it throws me off. i can't believe that use to be "me".

i use to be so in love with fashion, it was my first love. there was a fall out where i just didn't care. i think around the time where i got into "emo", all i thought about was proving to people how much i new about the scene and how "different" i was. but as time went on i stopped trying to prove to people, but i still dressed somewhat the same (actually, better). and then a couple months ago i was at Barnes & Noble and out of curiosity i picked up an issue of Nylon. Since then, I've fallen back in love with fashion. completely head over heels. but the problem with becoming more stylish in this scene is that everyone else is wearing jeans and a shirt, well skinny jeans and a band t-shirt. but the point is when i do "dress up" people stare at me like i shouldn't be there and that I'm only there for the lead singer or that I'm following some trend. and it kind of sucks to not be able to get dressed for shows like people go to for the nylon tour. so not fair.

I've even started using fashion to bond with my mom again. she never really understood my new style, since her style is pure glamour and designer labels. but she understands my ideas, and can see my passion. that's what i really want people to see. i want to prove to everyone that I'm still that stylish girl i use to be, that I'm still worth best dressed.

my main dream was to be a fashion designer, it's always been. but recently I've been questioning it. i can't even come up with 3 sketches that I'm actually happy with. that whole thing was depressing me for a while. until i seen a preview for s show documenting Rachael Zoe's job as a stylist. and that really made me think of being a stylist as an opportunity. i mean, before seeing the show i was compulsively on Polyvore. clicking "add to my items" for hours. i don't think I'd have the patience to be sewing garments for hours. i like the object of my interest to be right in front of me. idk, it's just me.

but the main thing I'd love to do in life is something where i can be myself. my personality, my style, my ideas.

hah, i don't know what on earth incorporates that.

there's some that i can twist into what i want, i can go for a Hayley Williams, Audrey Kitching, or even blog for Nylon.

idk. but whatever's meant for me will present it self sooner or later. that's how life works for me.

hopefully one day i can be some sort of Icon, i think that's possibly my goal in life.

well to start off, this blog is basically random thoughts, maybe a little bit of ranting, fashion, photography, music, mostly things that interest me.

somethings about me would be, that i don't take fashion too seriously, but i still make sure to have respect for the art. when it comes to style, i just go with the flow. i try not to over think anything and just be myself. being me is very important.

i consider myself somewhat of a good photographer. i don't care if people hate it or think its amateur, as long as I'm able to show the images in my head that inspire me. i could care less.

as for music, oh that's my guardian angel in disguise. I'm not much of a musician, but i enjoy music a lot. i go to shows almost every month, I'm inspired by the music, and i love my favorite bands dearly. without music, i honestly would never be who i am today.

I'll post about albums, maybe post a picture i like, post my own pictures (of course), talk about some trends i like (I'm not much for them), and talk about some things going on in my life.

my sentences are kind of jumpy, i might not make sense sometimes, but regardless it's my personality. I'm tired of trying to live up to people standards. I'm going to be myself, because that's the only thing that's consistent in life.

other things: i have 3 cats, i am this close to moving back home to San Francisco, I've been labeled emo/scene but it's gone to the point where i don't even care anymore, I'm obsessed with Harold & Maude, i have major anxiety problems, i have a love/hate relationship with myself, i think people are extremely interesting, i try to see good in everyone and understand everyone, i dislike certain words, I'm pretty weird....but people seem to love me anyways.
